This month our guest speaker will be Rebecca Rauch. Rebecca is a physical therapist and will be discussing how to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle this summer and all year long. Please join us for our monthly membership luncheon Friday, April 21 at the Hobbs Country Club from 12:00-1:00pm. Our guest this month is Jessica Parkey, owner of K. Bella Ray's Medical Day Spa. Jessica is donating a variety of services to our Wine Tasting's live auction and will be informing us on them along with other services her spa offers.

The March Luncheon will be held this Friday March 17, 2017 at the Hobbs County Club from 12-1pm. Please join us and guest speakers Luanne North and Summer Cooper, as we discuss investing for the future. Everyone will want to hear what they have to say! This month's luncheon we will be discussing the upcoming Wine Tasting Fundraiser. This event is the sole provider for the scholarships Lea County Women's Network awards. Please join us on Friday February 17th at 12pm at the Hobbs County Club for a buffet lunch and more information on the Wine Tasting. It is an event you won't want to miss out on! The January membership meeting will have guest speaker, Lisa Thompson. Lisa is the Chief Quality Officer at Lea Regional Medical Center. Rachel Wagner, a former LCWN scholarship recipient, graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Nursing, Magna Cum Laude.  We are so proud of her and her achievement.   Congratulations Rachel!
Greetings.  The December membership meeting will be our annual ornament exchange, in lieu of a speaker.   If you wish to participate, please bring an unwrapped ornament for exchange.   This is a great event where we learn more about our members and just a fun time getting and exchanging ornaments.  Look forward to seeing you at the Hobbs Country Club on Friday, December 16 for the event.   
Thank you to all who joined us for Thursday evenings 2016 Annual Awards Banquet. The Awards Banquet served as an evening to thank and introduce members of Lea County Women's Network, along with recognizing two exceptional women of the community. The evening started by recognizing and thanking our former President, Rae Cogar for her years in Lea County Women's Network and wishing her well as her and husband, Jerry Shelton, enter retirement this year. We hope retirement is everything you are wishing for and more! As Rae passed the gavel to new President, Wanda Kelton, the 2016 Board of Directors was thanked and the 2017 Board of Directors was introduced. This years Awards Banquet was fortunate to have a wonderful speaker and Hobbs native, New Mexico Senator Gay Kernan. Senator Kernan spoke on communicating and making connections, and how important they are personally and professionally. Thank you for making the trip to spend your evening with us Senator! Thursday evening also awarded two outstanding women of Lea County with the Career Achievement Award to Misty Stein, and the Janet Seagrave Lifetime Achievement Award to Gretchen Koether. LCWN was honored to acknowledge the hard work and dedication to our community that these women have demonstrated. Thank you again, to all who attended and helped make this evening possible. We look forward to next year!

Congratulations to our very own, LCWN 1st Vice President, Shannon Allen, on her New Mexico Nursing Excellence Award!! Shannon has dedicated her life and career to nurse anesthesia in Lea county and is deserving of such an outstanding recognition. LCWN is proud of you Shannon!
The Lea County Women's Network annual banquet is scheduled for Thursday, November 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn beginning at 6:00 p.m.   The banquet provides an opportunity to honor two women of Lea County with the Career Achievement Award and Janet Seagrave Lifetime Achievement Award.  Our guest speaker will be Senator Gay Kernan. The October meeting will feature Julie McGuinness, Certified Herbalist, as our guest speaker.  Julie will discuss "Fighting the Bear" – How stress affects us and what we can do to leave the Bear in the cave.  Julie will speak about the effects of the fight or flight syndrome on our body over the long-term when we do not deal with stress and how herbs and other remedies can be used to help us return to a place of peace and calm.  Hope to see you on Friday, October 21 at the Hobbs Country Club for lunch.   Please RSVP to info@lcwn.net if you are not a member and would like to attend.
Please join us at our monthly luncheon meeting on Friday, August 19 at the Hobbs Country Club.  Our speaker will be our former President and current Lea County Commissioner, Rebecca Long.  Rebecca will provide an update on issues and decisions of the past year by the Lea County Commission and her experiences as a new commissioner and the first female commissioner in decades.

Join us on Friday, May 20 at the Hobbs Country Club for our monthly luncheon meeting at noon.  Our speaker will be Neena Wagnon, Reiki Master/Teacher and New Mexico Licensed Massage Therapist. Neena will be speaking on a variety of topics: What to expect when you get a Reiki Session; How to become a Reiki Practitioner; What to expect when you get a massage; Why get a regular massage;  Why use essential oils, and How to find quality essential oils.  Neena has been practicing Reiki and Massage for over 20 years.  One of her greatest passions is teaching Reiki.  Neena teaches classes in Hobbs, NM. Our April Membership meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 15 at the Hobbs Country Club.  Come join us to learn more about volunteer opportunities within Lea County.  Our speaker is Rachael Moon, Director of the United Way of Lea County.   Hundreds of volunteers work with United Way of Lea County each year, ranging from partner agency involvement to fundraising assistance. Finding a volunteer position that is right for you is important to us, with the help of United Way of Lea County you can become involved in projects that are meaningful and fun. Dial 575-397-2203 to find out how you can become a volunteer in our community. United Way produces the “You Can Help” fundamental that is vital to the growth of Lea County.

Join us in February for our monthly membership meeting on Friday, February 19 at the Hobbs Country Club.   Our guest speaker will be Mary Lyle, Director of Education, Western Heritage Museum & Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame. She will provide information on their newest  exhibit "Wicked Plants" and volunteer opportunities at the museum.  She will also discuss upcoming events like the "Titanic" exhibit, coming this fall.  Mary not only serves in her capacity at the museum, but she is an instructor at NMJC, member/director at the Hobbs Community Playhouse, active in the Center for the Arts, has four sons and is married to Danny Lyle.  Please join us to find out more about your local museum.
The November Membership meeting will be held on Friday, November 20 at noon at the Hobbs Country Club.  This meeting will be to vote on the 2016 Board Members.  In addition, several of our scholarship recipients will be attending so please come and meet them.   In lieu of a speaker, this meeting will be a networking meeting for the members.   I look forward to seeing you there.

Please join us for the 2015 Annual Awards Banquet, which will be held on Thursday, November 19 at the Hobbs Country Club, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Kelly Holladay, Dean of Business, Math & Sciences at the New Mexico Junior College.  Tickets are $25.00 per person for the event, which includes dinner and program.  Tickets may be purchased from any member, sending a request to info@lcwn.net, or by contacting Luann North, Banquet Chairperson at luanne.north@edwardjones.com.  
 
 
The LCWN Banquet scheduled for Thursday, November 19 at the Hobbs Country Club has been cancelled.   If you have purchased tickets, please contact Carol Parish for your refund.
Nominations are now being accepted for the LCWN Career Achievement Award and the Janet Seagrave Lifetime Achievement Award.  These awards are open to any woman in Lea County.  The nomination form is available on the home page.  
The time is finally here for our wine tasting fund raiser!!  This event raises money to support both our scholarship program and our mentor program.   Come and join us at the Lea County Event Center on Thursday, September 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for some great wine, brought to us by Pecos Flavors Winery of Roswell, do some early Christmas shopping at our live and silent auctions and enjoy good company and food.   See you there!!
Our September membership meeting is Friday, September 17.   Our speaker is our own past president and newly-elected Lea County Commissioner, Rebecca Long.   Rebecca will provide us with an overview of what is going on this year with the Lea County Commissioners and give us some insight into what future plans are in store.   Hope to see you all there.
