Connecting the women of Lea County
Dear Lea County,
Lea County Women’s Network would like to share our heartfelt appreciation with all our auction donors, sponsors, and participants in the online fundraiser over the past weekend. It is because of your generosity, we will be able to continue the sponsorships for our students currently enrolled at NMJC and USW.
We would also like to thank the women of our organization for your contributions of time, energy, and selflessness to achieve our team’s goals during this unprecedented year. Thank you for giving your time to promote our future generation in Lea County.

Wondering how you can help women in Lea County afford college? Virtually attend the Lea County Women's Network Facebook auction!
As many of you know, due to the pandemic, our one and only fundraiser had to be postponed, with hopes of social distancing restrictions being lifted later on. However, that has not been the case. But with many women relying on a Lea County Women's Network scholarship to continue their education, "the show must go on!"
Set your alarms for Friday, July 31st at 12pm MT to start bidding on the auction items our community has so graciously donated. The auction will be live for 48 hours, ending Sunday, August 2nd at 12pm MT. Items will be listed through the Lea County Women's Network Facebook event, in the Discussion section (click me!).
We'd like to thank all of our sponsors and supporters who made such generous donations to our organization’s efforts to promote our scholarships. We would not be able to provide scholarships without you!
You can keep an eye on the Facebook event as new items are posted daily. Don't forget to begin bidding Friday, July 31st at 12pm MT! We have some outstanding auction items and are excited to support our community’s college students.

Dear Lea County Community Members,
The LCWN’s Irish Hoopla event in March was postponed due to the pandemic. Our organization has patiently awaited the passing of social restrictions; however, it seems the restrictions may be in place a while longer.
LCWN Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee have decided to proceed with the annual fundraiser as many of our ladies in our county depend on our organization’s scholarships to continue their education. The fundraiser will be held online with an auction for the items our community has so graciously donated.
I want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters who made such generous donations to our organization’s efforts to promote our scholarships. We would not be able to provide scholarships without you!
As final details are being determined, please watch the newspaper and radio ads for more details. The auction will be held on our Facebook page from noon Friday, July 31st through noon Sunday, August 2nd. We have some outstanding auction items and are excited to support our community’s college students.
Respectfully,
Shannon Allen

Dear LCWN Members and Community,
I hope this finds all of you healthy and safe. You have all been on my mind and I want you to know our organization may suffer a decline in the number of scholarships we have available next year, but it is temporary. Our organization will do a fundraiser this summer when social distancing is lifted, but for now our goal is to get our county through this pandemic safely.
As a healthcare worker on the frontlines, I have to thank each of you who has respected the social distancing and helped keep our community safe. I am currently serving in the drive-through COVID-19 testing station and I appreciate the sacrifices you have given in remaining home; it is difficult financially, socially, and mentally to have our lives interrupted. Some of us are serving our community by staying home and not spreading the virus, while others are serving by providing essential needs to our community. Each day when I suit up in gown, mask, gloves, and face shield to test our community, it seems surreal that we are facing this battle. There is no past experience to draw on because we have never had a pandemic like this face our community. Safety first, and then we will regroup and accomplish amazing things when we are free to care for our community again.
During this uncertain time, I hope your spirit of community service remains intact. This challenge will pass and in a few years we will share this story with new members. Please keep yourself and your family members safe.
We will not have a meeting in April in order to respect the state’s health recommendations on public meetings. Our efforts have been temporarily suspended, but we will resume with enthusiasm when this threat passes.
I have great admiration for each of you for your enthusiasm in community service and we will be stronger than ever when we resume our efforts. I will give you more updates as available, but for now stay safe and take care of yourselves and family.
Respectfully,
Shannon Allen, LCWN PresidentDear Lea County Friends,
The Lea County Women’s Network is postponing the “Irish Hoopla Fundraiser” currently set for
tomorrow, Friday 13th, due to the state of emergency declared by our Governor over the
pandemic Coronavirus COVID 19.
As a community service organization, our first loyalty is to our community members. I am
disappointed to miss the opportunity to network and raise funds for our mentor program and
scholarships, but the safety of our community is our priority. Hang on to your tickets and we will
reschedule the event when the health risk is lower for all of us.
Thank you so much to all the generous sponsors and donors making this event successful each
year. We appreciate your support! This event would not be possible without you. Helping the
ladies in our communities reach their goals and be successful in their endeavors is a very
rewarding experience for our organization, and it is because of our supporters we are able to do
this. Thank you!!
Respectfully,
Shannon Allen
