Local acupuncture specialist, Leese Lee, gave an interesting presentation on the ancient Chinese Art during August's luncheon at Zia Park and Black Gold Casino.

Leesa started by reading a description of  acupuncture and how it initially developed in ancient China for treatment of disease, longevity, and anti-aging.
Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating fine filiform needles into specific points on the body to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes. The word acupuncture comes from the Latin acus, "needle", and pungere, "to prick". According to traditional Chinese medical theory, acupuncture points are situated on meridians along which qi, the vital energy, flows.
Leesa's husband, Dr. Lance Lee, treats a variety of health issues with acupuncture treatments, such as headaches, respiratory disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, circulatory disorders, uro-genital issues, and gynecological disorders.
